Now I’m busy configuring my macbook coz I wanna bring it home with me instead of my Lenovo Ideapad. I’m visiting this App Advice to find recommended apps for iPhone and iPad by category. Wanna find apps for my niece to play with also.

Their iphone app has an app mover section where you will know which paid apps are on promo for the day. I just downloaded some paid apps which are free for today only.

Lion

Finally upgraded to Lion OS! Yey! Gotta explore this after my exams, visit the Mac App Store, download X-Code and start learning how to do my own apps. Special thanks to my colleague, Jackson, for helping me with the upgrade. ψ(｀∇´)ψ

Now my roomie wants her black macbook upgraded to Lion, too… (~_~;)

Pre-Owned

Eversince getting my iPhone and iPad I’ve been wanting to get my brains working on creating my own app. Unfortunately I found out I can only do that if I’m using a mac. Since most of my work are using the windows platform I didn’t want to spend so much on a macbook just for studying and testing use.

However, some good deals are found on the net. On my other post I found a S$350 black macbook for my roommate Jayz. That was supposedly for me but I really wanted to get the aluminum unibody. And… Here it is! It’s only a macbook unibody and not a macbook pro but since the previous owner upgraded the memory to 4GB DDR3 and 500GB hard disk it’s already the same specs as a macbook pro for me. (=^ェ^=) My techie friends said it’s already a good buy for the S$600 I paid for it. First time I ever bought a used gadget. It still looks brand new, though… hardly used.

Now I want to update to Lion OS. But I need to get familiar with this…

Black and White

Ok. This is definitely not a colorful post. Instead this is about the second hand (or should I use the term pre-owned) Macbook my roommate got. It’s the limited ed black Macbook but released quite some time ago. However, it’s still working real good and cost her only S$350. Not bad I’d say… to think I was the one who found the deal and prodded her to buy. When it’s on, I like the bright look of the Apple logo against the black cover.

I’m also looking for one but the unibody. Just wanna get familiar with a Mac. Windows is still my main platform esp for work. Actually, I wanna learn how to create apps… :-$

Feel sick today so I wasn’t able to go out and have one last cityscape pic. I’ll post this instead: a pic of my new handsfree for the iPhone and new pen for the iPad. Finished my iOS 5 iphone update last night. Wish I can test Siri but it’s only available in 4S.

I attended the 1st Digigirlz Day from Microsoft SG earlier and it was such a fun and insightful event. Got this from them after the event. Cool, right?!

Now I have a cool new mouse to use. For sure this will be really good to use esp in layout stuff. But for now I must rest my tired and sore right hand. Bowling (real) or any other ball game for that matter hate me so much. If it were using Wii or Kinect I’m very sure I’ll do really good. Which goes to say I want Kinect!!!

Pen

I’m quite picky with my drawing tools. My pencils before were either staedtler or faber castell. Then I didn’t want to use graphic tablets coz I can’t see where I’m drawing. That’s why I bought an iPad and a pen for capacitive screens. But then the available pens are quite thick. There’s one w/ smaller tip from Wacom but it’s not yet available here. So I wasn’t able to try drawing again. It’s quite difficult to draw precisely when the tip is thick.

Hence, when my AM told me she wants to sell her pen to me as she has two new ones, I immediately thought I’d get it. Why?! Coz the tip is definitely smaller as you can see from the pic above.

Can’t wait to start drawing with it.

Since I felt my keyboard protector was quite dirty already I finally decided to change it to this… a pink one!

I spent almost S$100 on an iPad 2 case and screen protector today. After looking around yesterday I finally decided to get the Ozaki iNotebook case in red as it has a stylus pen included. I surfed for reviews and saw a video so I got convinced. Then I spent 1.5hrs just to stick a screen protector on my iPad. I’m really bad at it. Then when I put it on the case it didn’t snap when closed. Me = ??? Hey, I thought it was magnetic?!

Ugh! Turned out the magnetic feature belongs to the iNotebook II (same look but does not come with a stylus). The features ain’t so complete after all. Something’s bound to be missing.

Btw, the other one I wanted to buy was Speck fitfolio in red. Almost the same style as this Ozaki but has a thin cord to lock it and the red is brighter. Didn’t get it as the sample showed the cord to be easily spoilt plus it doesn’t have a pen or even just a pen holder.

Oh well… Middle of the month and I’m broke again!

Syncing

I’m tinkering with it now… syncing my apps with my new toy. My primary use for this will be for sketching/drawing (childhood hobby), class, ebook/manga reader, surfing, work…

iPhone, iPad… now I must save for a Macbook Pro.
